 Piercing Plugs for Piercing Rolling Mill

Piercing plugs are the wearing part of piercing rolling mill in the production of seamless tubes and pipes.

Plugs play  a very important role.The quality of piercing plugs count for too much.

The outside surface of the piercing plugs is oxidided as resulting from the heat treatment,along the full length to assure the hardness of piercing plugs.

Material : 35CrMo, H13, 20CrNi4, Moly plug.

Manufacture Process

The piercing plugs process of manufacture foresees:

• stress relieving

• machining on the sleeking part

• heat treatment of homogenization on furnace

Piercing plugs heat treatment:

surface oxididation on furnace with oxidant ambient:

• heating

• temperature soaking

• in the furnace cooling
